About

Tyler Henderson is a composer and saxophonist from West Chester, Ohio. As a composer, Tyler strives to convey his thoughts, feelings, and emotions through his music, using his compositions as a medium to express his struggles with mental health. His music explores a wide variety of harmonies and emotions—from lush and sentimental to dissonant and disturbing—employing musical contrasts to reflect the emotional conflicts he has experienced.

Tyler is inspired by many diverse influences. Drawing on his background in jazz, he combines the harmonic languages of Shostakovich, Stravinsky, and Bartok with Monk, Corea, and Hancock.

Tyler has studied music composition with Martin Hebel, and now studies music composition at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
